Mapleview Energy has been selected to participate in the i.d.e.a. Fund, an innovation program supporting cleantech ventures in Ontario. The program provides early-stage cleantech companies with funding, mentorship, and access to a network of industry partners and investors to help accelerate their path from development to market. Through the program, Mapleview Energy received $20,000 in funding to support our development.
About the i.d.e.a. Fund
The i.d.e.a. Fund (innovation, development, entrepreneurship, and acceleration) is designed to support Ontario-based companies working on clean technology solutions. The program recognizes that cleantech ventures face distinct challenges in moving from proof of concept to commercial deployment, including the need for capital-intensive infrastructure, extended development timelines, and complex regulatory environments.
Participation in the cohort provides Mapleview Energy with:
- Structured mentorship from experienced cleantech entrepreneurs and industry leaders
- Access to a network of potential partners, customers, and investors in the clean energy sector
- Business development support to refine go-to-market strategy and operational planning
- Peer learning with other cleantech ventures navigating similar challenges
Why this matters for Mapleview Energy
At the time of selection, Mapleview Energy was in the early stages of developing its battery repurposing capabilities and BESS prototype. The i.d.e.a. Fund cohort provided a structured environment to refine our approach to market, strengthen our business model, and build relationships with organizations across Ontario's clean energy ecosystem.
The program has been particularly valuable in connecting Mapleview Energy with potential partners in agriculture, manufacturing, and other sectors where behind-the-meter energy storage addresses real operational needs. These connections have directly informed our approach to customer development and system design.
